Fast-talking marketing man comic novel ‘Syrup’ comes to life in indie film

We all know marketing pours through every part of New York like spilled soda, covering us in sugary slogans and sexy fashion.

So when it came time to spoof a target, there was nothing like the real thing for “Syrup,” a fast-talking romantic comedy which finished shooting around the city this week.

Based on a comic novel by Max Barry, “Syrup” involves an up-and-coming marketing man named Scat (Shiloh Fernandez) who rises to the top of the soft drink game by adding some A-game pop and X-rated fizz. But first he must deal with a duplicitous roommate (“Twilight’s” Kellan Lutz) and a vixen named “Six” (Amber Heard, soon to be seen on TV’s “The Playboy Club”).

There’s also a competing hottie (Brittany Snow) called “3″ – because she’s half as sexy as 6 – and more corporate weaseliness than there are lights on Broadway.
